A Lord's Poem

lyrics

My heart beats the rhythm, as the birds chirp their melody.
A friend whispers; compose a piece, as the roar of towers dwindles away.

A forgotten one offers me her hand, in need of my youthful clutch.
I walk away, my conscious still infantile, I walk away with a narrow eye.

I play a chord through my finite fingers, it echoes out towards the infinite.
A grain of sand, a fleeting laugh, a crevice leaf, her sorrow still brings me to grief.

Phosphorent memories blind my sight, I run from gallowed souls, remembering where the forgotten one lays, there amongst the things that live, she stares.

The birds chirp like chaotic bombs, the trees suffocating from impure thoughts, I offer my hand to my forgotten friend; indifferent eyes, aged lies, she whispers goodbye.
